Who will move your goods?
A carrier transports belongings. A broker arranges transportation. Confirm which role the company holds and identify the carrier that will handle your shipment.
What does the record allow?
Review current operating authority for the service you need, including household goods where applicable, and available insurance filings. A USDOT number alone is not proof of active authority or coverage for your belongings.

Check every digit of the USDOT number or try the start of the legal/DBA name. Name searches can show similar companies. Ask the mover for its exact registered identity. No result alone does not establish whether a business is licensed or unlicensed.
Inactive, pending, or unclear status
Read the specific authority and status details on the official record. Do not treat pending or inactive authority as active. Ask the company and FMCSA to resolve any uncertainty before committing to an interstate move.
Complaints or safety information
